A 4-Session Series
Facilitator: Eileen Miller OSF
Each session will begin with coffee and rolls at 9:30am. We will begin with prayer, and each participant will be given a booklet to aid personal reflection throughout the day. Faith-sharing and prayer will conclude each session.
This easy-to-read 2014 Catholic Press Association Book Award winner explores the ways in which we worship false gods and what can happen when we let go of these idols we often mistake for God and open ourselves to finding authentic freedom in the Love and Wisdom of the God-Who-Is. A few of the idols (mistaken ideas of God) Walters addresses are the “big brother god,” “patriot god,” “by the book god,” and “designer god.” Although we don’t call ourselves idolaters, no doubt each of us can recognize in ourselves a tendency toward wanting to worship at least one of these.
