DESCRIPTION:Join S. Cheryl Kemner and other Franciscans For Earth on Tuesday\, September 8\, 2026\, from 6:30 to 8 pm Central via Zoom\, for a free screening and discussion of the film “Chasing Time”.  \n\n\n\nThis 2024 documentary offers a reflective examination of time and mortality as it follows nature photographer James Balog and his team during the final phase of a multi-decade project that has produced more than one million images. \n\n\n\nAfter bringing some of the first and most striking visual evidence of our changing planet to the fore through the groundbreaking study of melting glaciers\, James Balog returns to Iceland to close the last chapter of his life’s work\, the Extreme Ice Survey. This project was launched in 2006 to record the effects of global warming using dozens of time-lapse cameras placed at glacier sites around the world. It has documented significant ice loss and glacier collapse. The documentary also highlights Balog’s ongoing research into the connections between melting ice\, wildfires\, and atmospheric change\, while reflecting on the personal meaning of his decades long work. \n\n\n\nThe documentary reunites Balog with the Emmy Award-winning team behind Chasing Ice and is directed by the first-time filmmaker Sarah Keo and Jeff Orlowski. It was shortlisted for the Best Documentary Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards. \n\n\n\nClick here to register.

DESCRIPTION:Online via Zoom • Monthly on the second Tuesday  \n\n\n\nJoin the Wheaton Franciscans for a 24‑month journey into the heart of Franciscan spirituality. Exploring the Franciscan Way of Life is open to people of all or no faith tradition who want to learn more about the Franciscan story\, deepen their spiritual life\, and build community. \n\n\n\nEach monthly session includes prayer\, input\, reflection\, and conversation\, with space for contemplative sharing.
