SUMMARY:Franciscan Federation Member Forum
DESCRIPTION:Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Franciscan Federation Member Forum via Zoom on Saturday\, January 25\, 2025 at 1pm to 4pm ET | noon to 3pm CT | 11am to 2pm MT | 10am to 1pm PT. \n\n\n\nSr. Mary Beth Ingham\, CSJ will give our keynote. Her talk\, “Attending to the Seeds of a Franciscan Future” will address themes pertinent to us today: What are the seeds of a truly Franciscan renewal of the world? In response to the recent Synod\, what Franciscan pathway do we see opening before us? What seeds are sprouting? What is ours to do? \n\n\n\nThe purpose of the special gathering is to celebrate and inspire all of us as we move forward in these days of new beginnings\, transitions\, and a renewal of our charism. Our time together will be one of sharing what the Federation has learned and accomplished and of insight and inspiration for shared leadership as Federation members strive to lead an ever-evolving way of life inspired by the Third Order Regular\, St. Francis\, St. Clare\, and the early lay penitents of Assisi. It will be a time to meet the new board members and to express our deepest gratitude to members of the board departing after years of faithful service. \n\n\n\nThis event is FREE for all members of the Franciscan Federation! Everyone else who is interested but is not a member is also welcome\, for a fee. Click HERE to register!

SUMMARY:Winter's Wisdom\, Rest & Renewal: A Solstice & Advent Retreat at Prairiewoods (in person)

Also integrates soothing night prayers\, insights from Advent and Celtic Christian spiritual ways of being\, Buddhism\, Taoism and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Spiritual practices include slow\, meditative energy and compassion-based Qigong movement and acupressure\, yogic sleep (yoga nidra)\, and vibrational singing bowl sound healing for rebalancing mind\, body and spirit. SUMMARY:Film Screening: "Ecosophia: Ecological Wisdom"
DESCRIPTION:Register today to join the Sisters and other Franciscans For Earth on Tuesday\, November 12\, 2024\, at 6:30 pm Central via Zoom\, for a free screening and discussion of the film “Ecosophia: Ecological Wisdom.”According to the Bullfrog Films website\, this 2023 documentary by Australian filmmaker Peter Charles Downey is a collection of thoughts as “some of the wisest ecological minds come together for an honest appraisal of our civilization without greenwash.” Ecosophia—a term first used by French philosopher Félix Guttari and deep ecologist Arne Naess—means ecological wisdom. ECOSOPHIA explores the interrelationship between energy\, the economy\, resources\, population\, psychology\, spirituality\, the biosphere\, the limits to growth and climate change in an honest appraisal of our civilization and sustainability.A simpler world is coming\, and what’s needed is as much a spiritual revolution as a physical one. Footage of environmental calamity\, natural wonder\, and urban sprawl illustrate the scientific analysis and philosophical insights of a host of featured interviewees including: Prof Tim Barrett\, Stephen Jenkinson\, B. Sid Smith\, Prof William Rees\, Prof Ian Lowe\, Morag Gamble\, Helena Norberg-Hodge\, Prof Stuart Hill\, Prof Will Steffen\, Prof John Gowdy\, Prof William Ophuls\, Bobbi Allan\, Alnoor Ladha\, Whaia Whaea\, Mindahi Bastida\, Rocky Dawuni\, Victor Pires and Randy Hayes.Registration Information:https://franciscansisters-olph.org/events/nov-12-2024_ecosophia-ecological-wisdom/
