Bryan Froehle directs the Ph.D. program in practical theology at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he is professor of sociology and religious studies. He previously served as professor at St. Thomas University in Florida and Dominican University in Illinois. Before then, he directed the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) at Georgetown University, a national church research and planning center. Bryan is co-editor of Studies in Global Catholicism, a newly launched book series. He has a work forthcoming in that series and several other books through Orbis and Oxford University Press. His four dozen scholarly articles and book chapters cover topics ranging from world Christianity and pastoral ministry to public theology and sociology of religion. His applied research work includes several hundred reports and strategic planning and consulting efforts for churches, dioceses, religious orders, publishers, ministry associations, universities, and other institutions. He has won over two dozen grants, designed and taught over 50 different courses in theology and the social sciences, and chaired over two dozen dissertation committees. Froehle has keynoted numerous national and regional conventions as well as local workshops for religious orders and diocesan presbyterates. He has spoken on topics such as the future of church life, ministry, education and educational leadership, publishing, giving, and related trends within the United States and overseas.
