Collaborative Leadership and the Franciscan Renaissance
This summit offers an opportunity to connect with fellow Executive Leaders in the Franciscan Organizations (ELFO), to engage in productive discussions about the current landscape of Franciscan leadership, and collaboratively envision how we carry the charism forward in today’s world. Provocative presentations by invited speakers will spark engaging, participant-driven discussion sessions. Together, attendees will actively explore how we, as leaders, can embrace collaborative leadership to ensure the Franciscan tradition thrives for generations to come.
At the heart of this summit is the key objective to revitalize and expand the ELFO group, positioning it as a nexus for collaboration, partnership, and visionary leadership within the Franciscan world. We envision this gathering as a pivotal moment to chart a renewed course for ELFO, with the summit’s discussions and outcomes providing a practical roadmap for its future growth and impact. In addition to this primary focus, participants will work to strengthen broader networks within the Franciscan leadership community and identify actionable strategies for embracing collaborative leadership. Collectively, these goals will help ensure that the Franciscan charism remains vibrant, responsive, and forward-looking in today’s ever-changing context.
Practical Outcomes for our Time Together (or, Why should you attend?)
Beyond the presentations, atmosphere, and sense of fellowship, we hope this gathering will inspire a renewed enthusiasm for the ELFO group, which has been previously convened by the Franciscan Federation. Together, we aim to explore the possibilities outlined below—as well as any new directions the Spirit may lead us toward.
- Establishing effective communication channels and creating a shared resource platform to support ongoing connections among leaders
- Sharing practical strategies, solutions, and scenarios for navigating critical challenges (declining membership, financial pressures, etc.).
- Forge and establish partnerships among Franciscan family members to collaborate in nurturing positive change and innovation.
- Clarifying who should be included around the ELFO table to ensure diverse and relevant representation
- Dreaming about ELFO’s role in advancing the Franciscan charism within the United States
- Identifying the specific support and resources executive leaders need to thrive in today’s environment
Event Cost & Registration
Registration for this event is $200. Included in your registration will be lodging, meals, and all materials you will need throughout the Summit. In addition, the Franciscan Federation will provide a $500 travel stipend to help offset your travel costs.
