Donations greatly appreciated
FAN and Pace e Bene are excited to bring you a new webinar: “Using Our Power – Nonviolence & Noncooperation in History & Today” on March 19 at 4 PM ET / 3 PM CT / 2 PM MT / 1 PM PT. Attendance is free, but we greatly appreciate donations to help defray the costs of holding the event and to support the work of FAN and Pace e Bene. In this important conversation Maria Stephan, PhD, coauthor of Why Civil Resistance Works, and Rivera Sun of Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service will discuss how strategies of noncooperation (such as boycotts, economic blackouts, and other forms of civil resistance) have shaped history and continue to empower movements today to defend democracy, promote justice, and challenge oppression. Michele Dunne, OFS will moderate the conversation. Ken Butigan, Ph.D., cofounder of the Catholic Institute for Nonviolence, will offer reflections on the roots of nonviolent action in the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. The power of nonviolence has been a driving force for social change at many points in history and this timely webinar will explore its relevance in today’s struggles. Register here and reserve your spot for this important conversation. The webinar will be recorded.
