From Leo to Leo, Part II: Reflecting on Catholic Social Teaching Before the Midterm Elections (Hybrid; Partner Event)
September 10 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm EDT
Hosted by the Sisters of St. Francis of Rochester, Minnesota – Assisi Heights Spirituality Center
Join S. Dawn M. Nothwehr, OSF, Ph.D. for an eight-week series (virtual or in-person) exploring how Catholic faith engages the social, political, economic, and ecological realities of our world. Rooted in Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching, the social sciences, and the wisdom of early Christian witnesses, this course introduces participants to the foundations of Catholic social ethics.
Guided by major social encyclicals and pastoral letters from across time and around the globe, we’ll look at how the Church’s teaching shapes action, policy, and efforts toward justice, the common good, and reconciliation in an ecologically threatened and often violent world.
Thursdays, September 10–October 29
7:30–9:00 p.m. ET
Cost: $25
