Watershed Wonders with Maggie McCoy (In-Person; Partner Event)
November 12 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm EST
Tau Center • 335 S Kirkwood Rd, St. Louis, MO
The Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Franciscans For Earth movement are hosting an evening with Maggie McCoy, Climate Change Education Coordinator at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Maggie will offer “Watershed Wonders,” an engaging look at how water moves through the St Louis region and how our everyday choices connect to larger natural systems.
Participants will learn how to identify their “water address,” explore how natural systems manage water, consider the impact of climate change on those systems, and look at practical ways green infrastructure can mimic nature in homes, workplaces, and communities.
Maggie brings a strong background in conservation and sustainability education, with experience at the Missouri Botanical Garden, the St Louis Zoo, and the Endangered Wolf Center. She is passionate about helping people gain the knowledge and skills needed to make more sustainable choices.
This event is co-sponsored by the St Louis Archdiocesan Laudato Si’ Commission.
