The Intergenerational Eco-Justice & Spirituality Network (IEJSN) is a Franciscan and interspiritual ecology-based action network guided by a steering committee. The IEJSN is an evolving project that focuses on:
- Intergenerational education, with a preferential option for youth and young adults, and support of ecology programs to build a transformative relationship with creation.
- Spiritual/leadership formation and community
IEJSN started in 2021 at the Franciscan Federation through conversations about our concerns for our endangered Earth within the context of the spiritual role that Francis and Clare of Assisi and indigenous peoples carry for intergenerational, inspirational work.
Mission Statement
IEJSN is a way for an intergenerational connection/sharing rooted in an inter-spiritual and Franciscan-hearted commitment to earth that honors land-based and indigenous wisdom in uncharted times of growing climate change and injustices related to race, gender, age, and socioeconomics.
What We Believe In
- Utilizing intersectional lenses and integral ecology resting upon spiritual values and inspiration
- Learning how to journey together in justice and action by listening to one another
- Supporting one another with creative initiatives that may arise organically through sharing and coming together.
- Leading the evolutionary and cosmic path for equity and justice into the future through the voices of younger generations
- Seeking to discover ways to support these creative voices through networking as we live together in the Sacred Earth Community, Our Common Home.
