The University of St. Francis, founded in 1920, is a private, Catholic, non-profit university. Being a nonprofit university means that revenue earned by USF is reinvested into programs and services that help students and on initiatives that contribute to the university’s mission. USF also receives support from endowments, alumni, and other donations.

Position Description
Vice President for Mission Integration serves as the chief Mission Officer of the University responsible for promoting and safeguarding the integration of mission through its history, identity and purpose of the modern University of St. Francis. The Vice President for Mission Integration is responsible for communicating the heritage of the Founders, The CONGREGATION of the THIRD ORDER of ST. FRANCIS of MARY IMMACULATE, Joliet, IL. The Religious Institute has continuously sponsored the University of St. Francis since 1920 and has direct input on the role. Vice President for Mission Integration articulates and strengthens USF’s Catholic Franciscan identity. Develops a consciousness of mission for the greater church and ensures its implementation in the university through policies and practices. The Division of Mission Integration leads from within and collaborates with all others areas of the university to create a culture where the Franciscan values of reverencing creation, compassion and peacemaking are brought to life and grounding in the Gospel.
Responsibilities
Provide vision, direction and leadership for the Division of Mission Integration.
Establish a strong working relationship with colleagues in every area to ensure the pervasive integration of Catholic Franciscan Mission and Values of University Life to facilitate a shared mission among all.
Establish and maintain relationships between the Roman Catholic dioceses of Joliet and Chicago and the University regarding matters of the University and Church issues.
Collaborate with other Catholic colleges/universities, outside groups and organizations (i.e. ACCU and AFCU) in programs and activities that promote the values and mission of Catholic Higher Education.
Participate in the Shared Governance of the university by serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, Budget and Planning (Chair Compensation and Benefits Committee), Executive and University Council, Crisis Management Team, Behavioral Intervention Team, ex officio member of Academic Assembly and other committees or task forces as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Required
M.A. related to administration with teaching experience or other equivalent degree/experience.
Knowledge of current trends in the Church and Franciscan scholarship, Theology, and Higher Education.
Willingness to support and cultivate the Catholic and Franciscan mission and values of the university.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
Practicing Catholic with demonstrable commitment to the Roman Catholic Tradition.
